Whitegoods Brisbane

From fridges and freezers in the kitchen to washers and dryers in the laundry, whitegoods are central to every household. They’re an essential part of modern life, but they can also be very expensive. If you’re looking for an affordable alternative that doesn’t compromise on quality, factory seconds are a fantastic option.

We supply a wide array of whitegoods in Brisbane, so you’ll always find exactly what you need. Our prices are up to 60% lower than retail, and we provide a manufacturer’s warranty for your complete peace of mind.

What are factory seconds?

Factory seconds, or simply seconds, are retail items sold to the public at a reduced rate. Prices are normally reduced due to minor faults. In most situations, these faults are cosmetic in nature, such as scratches and dents. Factory seconds cover a wide range of retail products, including whitegoods and other household appliances.

Whitegoods are the ideal candidate for seconds, as they’re functionally perfect and greatly reduced in price. While the amount and type of damage varies between products, they normally feature slight aesthetic imperfections. These items adhere to the same safety and environmental standards as typical retail products, so you can be assured of a fully functional unit.

The joy that comes from a fridge upgrade

It’s funny how we rely so much on our household appliances but don’t really pay much attention if they are doing the job OK.  As soon as you have to deal with a broken fridge for example and start to consider a replacement or repair,  you actually notice your fridge features.  Next you will be noticing fridges everywhere – at a friend’s place, at your sister, brother or parents’ home. This means you’re also becoming sensitive to fridge configuration and storage size in litres!  Who knew fridges could be so interesting all of a sudden.

If you haven’t recently replaced or upgraded your fridge then let us enlighten you to the joys of a fridge upgrade that you are going to experience.

New models are more energy efficient

You can choose a configuration that suits your lifestyle

The wall thickness on modern fridges is smaller so there’s more storage inside for less physical space

The shelves are often clear plastic now vs the old solid white so you can see more

The lighting is better so you can see more

Suddenly food is more interesting because you can see it

Leftovers are used up because you can see them

Do we have you convinced yet?

With many factory seconds in stock in Brisbane you are welcome to pop into our showroom to view the current availability or call or drop us a quick email.

4 reasons to choose factory seconds white goods

Are you in the market for a new washing machine or fridge in Brisbane on a budget? Perhaps you’re a flood victim and didn’t have your previous appliance insured, or maybe you’re a student looking for a cheap installation. Purchasing a factory second-hand appliance may be the way to go. These appliances aren’t second-hand in the usual sense, but instead have minor dents or scratches that prevent them from looking brand new.

At our store, we have a wide range of factory seconds fridges for sale Brisbane residents can trust. There are several reasons why you should consider factory seconds white goods In this blog, we outline four of these reasons.

Browse a larger range

When you purchase factory seconds, you get to choose from a larger range of brands and models when compared to what’s on offer in mainstream retail stores. This is because stores that sell factory seconds aren’t concerned with selling only the latest makes and models, but also those from previous years that have minor defects and never made it out of the factory. Browsing from a larger range means it becomes easier to find the right second-hand appliance to suit your needs and requirements.

Environmentally friendly

Buying factory second white goods allows you to actively reduce your impact on the environment. Without purchase, these goods are likely to end up in a landfill somewhere, thereby contributing to land waste and preventing the materials from being used in the production of another model. Household Appliances – Brisbane Supplier for Ovens and Cooktops

We supply and install many household appliances in Brisbane.  Mostly refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, and cookware – stovetops or ovens.

The freestanding oven is a very convenient option for a new kitchen or as a replacement.

Many kitchen renovations call for set sizes so we need to know what space we are working with first.  If you do need a freestanding oven or a new cooktop get in touch on (07) 3918 4900

If your oven or cooktop is broken, we can source the parts and repair them.  If that’s not possible we can replace it at less than retail.  Sometimes you might just need a new element, but these need to be properly installed.

Note that we do sell gas cookers but we only do installs on the electrical ones.

The Process:

  1. Select your model
  2. Tell us the size of the space you have for the oven or cooktop
  3. We will quote to supply
  4. Our quote will include the supply of a new oven, removal of the old one and the electrical work for the installation
  5. Once you accept the quote we arrange a time to come and do the installation and book it in

If that sounds good you can call us now to chat about your requirements.  Our team is extremely experienced with the supply, repair, and installation of household electrical appliances and would love to help.

We will advise installation timeframes based on what stock we have available but it’s generally a very quick process.

If it’s a repair job you need, we can source pretty much anything as far as spare parts go.  Sometimes we can help with a generic brand at a lower cost if you need that.

What to do when your fridge is broken

Are you having some trouble with your fridge?  We can help.  To start with, there’s a general set of troubleshooting tasks you can complete that will help to get this situation sorted ASAP.  Our team can run you through this over the phone. Some initial diagnosing can help to determine what sort of situation you’re in. There will be two situations generally: you can either have the fridge repaired under warranty (or repaired outside of warranty), or you may find the repair is not really going to be worth the trouble.  If you decide to buy a new fridge, that’s an option, or we can assist with a factory second which offers greater savings and the opportunity to upgrade on what you can afford new.  The choice you make will depend on your personal situation.

Northside Appliance Spares and Repairs are Brisbane’s leading supplier for service and genuine parts for all Electrolux brand household appliances.

Top 3 Tips for Purchasing a New Household Appliance

Spring is just about here, and now is the time to make those renovations to your home that you’ve been wanting all winter. Whether you’re planning on upgrading that washing machine that’s gotten way too loud or change out that dryer that takes two cycles to dry anything, making an appliance change can be an extensive process. While purchasing a new household appliance might be simple, installing it and setting it up in your home can be a tedious process. Here are a few tips to make things easier:

1. Research the product

Before you buy any appliance, your goal should be to become a well-informed consumer. That means researching the product in an in-depth manner — and we don’t mean just reading the 10 most popular models from a major appliance website. We actively encourage you to find a model that uses as much energy as you’d like it to, comes with the best warranty options, and more. While what a machine claims to be able to do will always be quite a lot, the proof is in the pudding. Looking at product specifications and understanding them is the best way to avoid purchasing a product that won’t live up to your expectations. Five fridge organisation hacks

When you need to cook, there’s nothing like a clean, well-organised fridge to motivate you. Check out these simple hacks and tips that could help you get there.

1. Save time and make carrots last forever

If you store carrots in water in the fridge, they will stay hard and edible for weeks. This trick also applies to other hardy vegetables or roots like celery and potatoes after they are cut. You can cut up your soup or oven-bake veggies ahead of time and grab some when you need. Use a deep pan or a plastic container, and change the water out every three days or so.

2. Organise your shelves by food type

The ideal temperature for a fridge is 3 to 5°C. But there is a bit of temperature variation within a fridge, with the bottom being the coldest. You can use this information to help you organise, keeping certain categories of food together to find them easily and also prevent cross-contamination.

We recommend food that doesn’t need cooking, like deli meats or leftovers, for the upper shelf. The middle shelf could be dairy foods like milk, cheese, butter, and desserts. The bottom shelf could be wrapped raw meat (if you eat it), then fruit and veggies in the drawers. The doors are the warmest part of the fridge and have less space, so they are great for sauces and foods with natural preservatives like jams. Continue reading “Five fridge organisation hacks”
